I Hate That I Love You Poem by Kelsea Osterman

I Hate That I Love You

I hate the way you can look at me
and I get lost in you gaze.
I hate the way you can see past
my looks and see who I really am.
I hate the way you can make me laugh
even when I don't want to smile.
I hate the way you know just what to say
to get me to smile.
I hate it when you smile and
I get lost in your gaze.
I hate it when you know
what i am about to say.
I hate it when you make me laugh but,
even more when you make me cry.
I hate the way you can make me happy
with one little stare.
I hate the feeling that I get when
you are not near.
I hate the fact that I love you so
and that one day you might hurt me.

Kelsea, this is a profound poem, from the standpoint that that's what love does to us all, in one way or another. Please remember that love is the most complicated of emotions, therefore eliciting the most complicated variety of expression. I was where you are now, I know what you feel, my dear. Listen to Joan Jett's song: I Hate Myself For Loving You. It might explain this a bit more to you. It did to me! I shall read more of your stuff soon and feel free to read any of mine. :)

It's a scary thing, letting someone inside, becoming too vulnerable. But don't try to stop what your heart is telling you to do, at least that's what I believe. Awesome poem though. Very consistent and resolute.
