....Litmus on the isthmus..or thereabouts (repost)

Heart's blood spilled........
turns
......green......
...........purple......
......no rich red or pale pink
in the mock turtle's soup kitchen......

blessed are the rich in marrow
bones
in
the
belfry.....
chiming
dry
canticles
to
sunset nests.....

the chanticleerian call at dawn
gathers mourners
in the squared circle.....

mid-day
shadows will be cast
over
and
under
raucus cliffs.......

to drift....bounce...cloy...
dangle
from
rocks below......

from time to time
a greedy wave
has
something to swallow
