Bri Edwards' Heaven On Earth...[ Ice Cream, Birds, Peace, And Harmony; Fantasy, Most Likely; Wishful Thinking; Filling Some Spare Time ] Poem by Bri Edwards

When I've pushed past my 70th year, I guess I'm allowed to dream,
of what 'Paradise' would be for me. Let's start with Ice cream.

1 - Ice cream, on a stick, in a cone or bowl, hard or soft,
…of nearly any flavor, could send my spirit aloft.

I've never bathed in ice cream; maybe I'd try it.
If you think this is too silly, why don't you just be quiet!


2 - Birds! Not the kind found in our chicken coop,
…nor the ones which, upon my head, will poop.

Since childhood, birds, those found ‘in the wild',
have brought me ‘joy'.
But I DID also enjoy (till a cat got it) a parakeet as a young boy.


3 - Peace, among all people, including every single one of us.
Why is it so many end up ‘making war' instead?
Why all the fuss?

Why indeed? ! Perhaps only a ‘god' can answer that.
Perhaps all of humans' gods should sit down and have a chat!


4 - Harmony. I've run into a definition difference; by "harmony" I did mean "peace",
not just a lack of ‘war', but day-to-day living together without strife. Let negatives cease!

Unfortunately a lack of "harmony" among people …
may only be ‘fixed' by gods, ….like ones sometimes ‘connected' to a steeple.

And, unfortunately(?) , I don't believe in such gods or God,
…for which [ if "God" DOES exist ], to Hell, I may ‘get the nod'.

So, it looks as though no Heaven on Earth will be mine.
Perhaps YOU will be luckier, and Heaven on Earth will be thine.
