The Golden Egg

Suppose you had a goose,
A goose that would produce
A golden egg a day
You wouldn’t want to lose
That special golden goose
You’d care for it in every way

Now something of more incredible worth
Was given to each of us at birth
We ‘ve got a worthy thinking brain
If positive, loving thoughts we’d feed it
Yes that is really all that’s needed
Just think of all the golden eggs to gain

If we keep up with doom and hateful thinking
Consuming drugs, excessive drinking
Getting stressed about any item in the news
Neglect good deeds and thoughts of pure
We can count on it, perfectly sure
That we will lose our brain as golden goose

Let’s feed our brain with all the best
Positive thoughts, lofty aims, a loving chest
Let’s focus on God’s way, forget the rest
Search daily for some goodness in the news
And sure your brain, just like the goose
A golden egg a day it will produce

A great poem... full of positive energy... and so true... if we feed up our brain with positive thoughts.. then definately the result would be positive (Report) Reply

Good brain food. Great practical advice for the way to a better life. But it will not work, unless we, each, take the time to sincerely put it into practice. I'm all for it Aufie. (Report) Reply

Lovely! to think that we get so lost in darkness that surrounds us, we forget to think of a positive thing daily. We are stressed over the state of things in our lives. If we can take one positive thought, turn it into an 'egg' that produces more positive thoughts.

Very nice the way it shows the spirituality in it with one simple act of a positive thought and actively look for something good to share. I do like this poem. It is sublime in the simplicity of the message. (Report) Reply

Human brain can produce much more valuable things than a golden egg. But man should come out of his small self and look at the larger society. Surely greater things will be visible. Great poem. Marks 10+ (Report) Reply

Great work so simple but too good... In a very simple way you have conveyed the do's and don'ts and its very true and so well you compare the brain with the golden egg..Enjoyed it very well and it deserves 10+++ Thanks for sharing..... (Report) Reply

Even though I do not fully agree with all what is written in your poem,
I agree that positive minded person can be more valuable for himself
    and also for his surroundings....
But positive minded not mean to being blind, to being disregardful
or negligent to the others troubles, others suffering and injustice.
Yes with positive mind we can overcome many troubles...
but also we can in a positive way express our 'no! ' for any injustice, for things
we consider for very-very wrong and dangerous!
The golden egg cannot serve well when we use it only for own well being. (Report) Reply

wonder at ur ingenuity to compare the brain with a golden egg.

you are really advising ur children here about drugs and bad deeds etc.
We can count on it, perfectly sure
That we will lose our brain as golden goose

Let’s feed our brain with all the best
Positive thoughts, lofty aims, a loving chest
    Let’s focus on God’s way,
goodness, fineness, love Gods way......... you are real father and a great teacher.
thank you dear for sharing. your brain is really a golden egg. (Report) Reply
