Chris Townsend Poems

A misty hollow, a quiet place for two,
My heart in your hands, the me and the you,
Shielded from the wind an angel by my side,
Whispered sweet nothings, my inhibitions to hide,
...

Lie beside in a patch of sun,
Wrench my heart out and show for fun,
Dark shadows surround our façade,
As life, to fight, makes it so hard,
...

Me myself I have nothing to prove,
No legend to create, no image of you,
I save myself by hiding in my space,
As I avoid the tangled web, the human chase,
...

4.

Wild frontiers battle to the front,
Sealed fortunes, its rude to point,
Onward victory, is a gun shot away,
My soul destroyed, humanities depravity,
...

5.

I have nothing to prove nothing to say,
This moment in time, a cold and bitter day,
I hear the movement but I cannot see,
These feelings revolving around the inner me,
...

Quiet exudes it pours from my heart,
This gaping hole, this pulling apart,
I shield my soul, as I see this glowing light,
I have run out of energy, I cant see the point of this fight,
...

7.

Thank you for the sensations, which reside deep in my heart,
Thank you for ripping me in two, for tearing me apart,
This step, which eludes my body now,
All these wretched feelings have gone sour,
...

8.

I feel this sensation, this inner bliss,
Something I can’t touch, I am afraid of this,
A sweet measure of love divine,
All within this sweet, bitter crime,
...

9.

Once again to the breach, this position to hold,
As a little boy, strong in body, this story to unfold,
Courage is like the drug of every soul,
It feeds our addiction, out of body the goal,
...

10.

Words escape me, they take me to my special place,
A different universe, well away from human disgrace,
My thoughts drift through, this void called a mind,
All these presents left by faceless people, all these things to find,
...

11.

The past she haunts she brings her vengeance to bear,
As the inner core of my being, she rips to tear,
The hell bent ringing bell, the hurting time begins,
As the silent calls that surround, the effervescent colored sin,
...

Foot steps, snow covered path,
Relentless feelings, left to last,
Hatred screams in this cold whole,
As this boy, his life takes it toll,
...

Wild frontiers battle to the front,
Sealed fortunes, its rude to point,
Onward victory, is a gun shot away,
My soul destroyed, humanities depravity,
...

In a deep crevasse there exists a fine dividing line,
A place where clocks don’t tick, there’s no need for time,
In this place there lives a man, a child like person of no refrain,
He shouts at the moon and cries to the wind and screams at rain,
...

A single rose, a thorn in a field of soft grass, sets for me a lonely scene,
This pointless gesture of romance, a solitary flower in a seabed deep set in green,
I cry a river of thoughts, a torrent of violent water, set to fall,
As I look deep in to this mire, from the cliff of deep regress I call,
...

In these words I do write,
For within my turmoil, I hold tight,
As my emotional spiral chains me to the floor,
As the wind pours over my soul and seals my door,
...

17.

I don’t mind if things don’t work out,
For I stand before you a failed actor deep in a mire of doubt,
I don’t believe what my eyes tell me are true,
This image I hold close to my heart, cant be you,
...

18.

This warmth it burns it attacks this grey desolate hole,
As I feel a convulsion, it’s dragging from my soul,
This image stands clear in sea of mist,
This solitary woman, hand clenched in fist,
...

Take me serious find me a joke,
Within man kind I don’t have any hope,
I stand a child among such very strong men,
As I am caged, locked within my pen,
...

Feel my pain as I feel yours,
One more slammed sensation, fingers trapped door,
Cry your shallow tears of dread,
Not much further now, soon be dead,
...

Chris Townsend Biography

A simple man with a simple life. Trauma a few years ago caused me to start writing poetry. I would like to think that they resemble me in some fashion but invariably they are an image of what I am thinking at any given moment. Mostly dark when you explore the depths of your mind you sometimes get surprised as to what you see...)

Love Is....

A misty hollow, a quiet place for two,
My heart in your hands, the me and the you,
Shielded from the wind an angel by my side,
Whispered sweet nothings, my inhibitions to hide,
A delicate flower of pink, its message to bring,
As the lullaby of our love, a quiet peaceful hymn,
Cast away on a sea of quiet blue,
A ship entirely for the me and you,
Many a mile and many a day,
A love embraced, through all that may,
In solitude, in peace we are but one,
Hassle and war, battles far but gone,
Save a kiss for a person who cares,
Take these troubles, halved to be shared,
Shhhh now, I can feel your breath,
Take this time there is so little left,
