Goodbye Poem by Chris Townsend

Goodbye

Rating: 5.0

Me myself I have nothing to prove,
No legend to create, no image of you,
I save myself by hiding in my space,
As I avoid the tangled web, the human chase,
Not sure what I did to deserve such an angry scream,
All I did was to let you in, to feel my dream,
I feel your breath as your anger breathes its breath,
As it strangles your body, geared moved to death,
Grey mood as the burn takes you here,
As I feel your chains, quiet burning fear,
I could fight, I could give words of war,
I could retaliate with vicious words, keep the score,
I have learned the only way to fight is to not to bother to play,
To move on to shrug your shoulders, come what may,
As anger is defense, afraid of it all,
As I stand in my ignorance, pride before fall,
I realise I frustrate you as you don’t know what to do,
But I really feel for your problems, I am sorry for you,
If all you can do is shout at the world,
If from post to pillar, your shattered existence is hurled,
It must be hard to not have anyone to share,
To not have anyone, to hold and care,
Still the rippled pond needs a stone to throw,
In order to move from transience, you have to want to go,
I may be in one spot as my mind drifts away,
But in my existence, I have feelings to say,
I thank you for letting my dam burst on here,
I thank you for allowing me your presence to share,
I wish that you can be in your future happy and free,
I hope in the future you can think better of me,
But in your bitterness I must say good-bye,
No tears in my mind, a deep heart felt sigh …
