What Left My Throat Dry? Poem by Abdul Wahab

What Left My Throat Dry?

Rating: 4.2

Inexcusable crime
And incurable disease
Of the last century
Left my throat dry
Without water wetted my wings
Without sickle tied my legs
I lost my peace in the din
A fish in the water without a fin.

Water can not wet my throat
The sun can not dry my wings
Untying my legs will not give me back my fins.

What is the use to be dry,
If I shan't get the shadow and the fly?
I shan't get surely the shadow from the sun
To it, it will only increase my bebt burden?
My wet wings needn't to be wide spread
As I know the hope of justice has already dead!

keats like picture of the the life n the world: for poetic merits its beautiful, but for content....these rhetorical qs...why so bleak n hopeless? ? ? here where men sit n hear each other groan where palsy shakes a few sad last gray hair where youth grows pale, n specter-thin n dies where but to think is to be full of sorrows n leaden-eyed despairs where Beauty cannot keep her lustrous eyes And new Love pine at them beyond tomorrow...
