Turkey Day Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

Turkey Day

Rating: 5.0

Tom Turkey is happy
Knows not what to say
Good ole Mr. Hogan
Has surely saved the day

No turkeys for dinners
All across the land
Covid has come
Got to give him a hand

The stores won't be packed
This coming holiday
The stuffing and fixings
In the store they will stay

Shelter in place
No family this day
The troopers will be out
You know what they'll say

Two is just right
But three's a crowd
Don't want to hear laughter
Better not be loud

No need to give thanks
For the bounty we have
Can't take joy in the sharing
For sacrifices we made

No family, no friends
No blessings to say
Gobble, gobble, goo
Maybe some chicken
Would be better for you
Wear the damn mask

Hope your Thanksgiving went well pal; I spent the week in a very unpopulated, remote part of souther Utah hiking with my daughter, it was wonderful! Take care Lawerence...
