Sunset Of My Heart

Let love's sunset into my heart
With sullen grey's tinged in pink
With last rays of warmth
Before there comes the chill

Let the last breath of fulfillness
Ease around my heart
Take away the sunny memories
Softly as the light fades away

Fading fast empty embraces
And kisses that have no taste
And softly whispered, 'I love you's'
Fall into the Atlantic sea

Come nightness surround now
My empty heart
Console my ache and care
So come now, sunset of my heart

We all have been in this state of melancholy. Just do remember, that after sunset and nightness (as you so poignantly remark) , the sun comes out every morning and brings life and joy with it.
Nice poem of melancholy. Thank you for sharing.

A lovely poem letting love's sun- set into the heart is akin to a soft breeze brushing past one! Enjoyed the beautiful feeling! (Report) Reply

Wish no more, sun to set in your heart
Do wait sun to rise to replace inside
So if it refuse to come, moon is up
Why dont you feel the love that it tried to pour
Just hit the arrow of heart and burn it to the darkness
may loneliness will on fire, and claim back your desire_Soul (Report) Reply

I never caused a thought of gloom
A smile of joy since I was born

In secret pleasure - secret tears
