Just A Dog - Poem by Elaine Mckendrick

How a room can suddenly be so empty
since when was there a ticking clock

how can a life vanish so suddenly
all the silence does is mock

Expecting the expected
The things i took for granted

Just a dog, some may say
But it hurts, when they go away

But i've said goodbye
and i have cried
and he is gone
and i move on

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Just some thoughts and feelings at the time of my dog's death.
