Japanese Child, Hanane Chan Poem by Elena Sandu

Japanese Child, Hanane Chan

Rating: 5.0

The little girl
of years, only two, was
wearing once
an old man's slippers, true!
The stairs were many
but she didn't mind
for almost every step
a slipper fell,
back to the previous step
she'd go to and,
putting the slipper on,
is stepping up again.
Hanane chan
Needed no help
wanted to walk all steps
alone, each, only by herself.
And when on top
she finally arrived
her face brigthen
with a smile that looked
so very satisfied!

How odd...
Who could have taught
to a little child Patience,
the wisdom
of a hundred years old! ?
I guess the soil
that gave us precious life
sometime may also give humans
a hand...

Your words are Gold here, all of your words are GOLD, my dear. We can learn from your easy but very wise philosophy, Elena my dearest Friend! How odd... Who could have taught to a little child Patience, the wisdom of a hundred years old! ? I guess the soil that gave us precious life sometime may also give humans a hand... The final stanza I regard the best! Thank you for sharing a bit of your wisdom, dearest Elena! your Pipi

... The soil that give us precious life........ A beautiful line. Just the determination of Hanane, she knew she was going to make it.
