Hope Poem by Khairul Ahsan

Hope

Rating: 4.8

To a mind in despair,
Hope is a foggy, misty,
Unending enigma.
Once broken, no repair is possible

Hope can only,
Momentarily,
Keep the painful stress buffered.

Thank you for your Poet Notes Khairul. Simply loved your words. Hope is often something that is the only thing we have. No one can take HOPE away from us.

'No one can take HOPE away from us' - yes, unless we want to voluntarily abandon. Thank you, Lyn Paul, for reading the poem and leaving a well thought comment on it.

Your poem reminded me of a line by Persy B.Shelley, One hope is too like despair. But cheer up. Hope is also like the sun. We need it to live hopefully.

Despair is a terrible thing, and it is very difficult to escape. Your poem touched my past, and it did take more than hope to survive.

Thanks Darla, for the comment. When despair engulfs a human mind, hope may not be the panacea, but it provides a walking stick to a weak man to walk on!
