Another Hobo's Lullaby

Hobo
Between both tough walls
Your blankets lie ready for your sleep
You stick your head out to the alley
For to check if you had company
Ungrateful most of the time
This is received unhappily by thee
There must be some place
Among the whole wide universe
Where your mind can rest quiet eternally

Who's gonna catch your soul
Who's gonna take it to a place
Where it can rest untouched
But you want
Someone that fills your bowl
But you want
A roof that keeps you from the cold

All your strength consists
Of fearing the snow of outside
Already can it have beauty or mysticism
There's another point of view
-the one of yours-
To take a look at your life

Poem of the Day

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Young Love lies sleeping
In May-time of the year,
Among the lilies,
Lapped in the tender light:
White lambs come grazing,
White doves come building there:
