......and I fly.......(vivisected/reposted......) |
|
|
| |
I come to rest on gargoylean crags....
I stretch, flap, spread my wings....
....again in flight.....
I soar...
I light on crusted patina...
this corruscated cuppola my unfeathered nest...
a momentary harbor among the spires.... I survey ...above and below
scan the sky... my eye seeks out the river's silvered ribbon....
I am safe, now....
......I lick the blood .....from my talons....
I shake, ruffle my tail feathers.....
.....one is loosed...
I watch as it spirals down...
it lands in an alley way....
a child picks it from the dust......
and I fly................
delilah contrapunctal.... yes, that's how I intended to spell it.........

An eagle for sure. Here it would be a Wedgie (wedge-tailed eagle) - unbelievably beautiful with a wing span of two meters. Perhaps yours is a golden eagle, similarly proportioned and with a profile to die for! Your poem is a treasure and inspires this reader to lift her wings and dance. Glorious poetry. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ |
