An Antiseptic Cover Girl

Divine
An antiseptic cover girl
Light of another world
So distant, yet compelling
Contemplating the means of imagination taking over thine eyes
The moment where twixt the stars her presence shines
Captivating and majestic, comely and mystifying
Please importune this beast inside me to cast away from my slowly deceasing insides
A chase, she gives
A chase, I’m languish for it but I have to
I have to, I have to lonely decline
I have to, I have to solitarily deny
Or I would end up deprived of sanity, approved vanity in beauty
Lusting after a perfect queen of a rippled magazine
Like the rest of the dogs
Like the rest of these wolves howling, dry tongues heaving out of their mouths
And I admit to be a wolf
But a wolf who walks alone, a non-conformist
Conformity died in me centuries ago, although I’ve only been alive three years short of two decades
Oh my, firefly, am I, am I worthy to be in your presence
Oh my, butterfly, why are you the tattoo staining my chest
Marking of beauty and delicate, fragile features that make you so strong
What has this antiseptic drama queen finally done to me, blatantly?
I’m trailing off deliberately, it would so seem
But my brain is being utilized, colonized by the toxin contained in her bitter lip gloss
That is now imprinted on my cheek
Sanity, please….
Don’t leave me
Come back to me
My vanity in beauty….
Open your eyes once again
Vanity….
My serenity….
My serenity is now howling like a savage animal
Lustfully chasing slowly yet surely
For an antiseptic cover girl
That has stained my jagged face….

Poem of the Day

poet Helen Hunt Jackson

The month of carnival of all the year,
When Nature lets the wild earth go its way,
And spend whole seasons on a single day.
The spring-time holds her white and purple dear;
