all that tromping through the gorse has given me a charlie-horse
I should've stayed astride me pony though his haunches rather bony had me bouncing quite errony- us a sight to see... all moany... bus... none out there, way too loney
so we trod back side by side (he said he's glad I'd quit that ride) and when he'd rest', well-brushed and fed I took me achin' jones to 'bed
to dream of leas, meadows unbroken... where words, like love are felt... unspoken
and dancing, my four legs so spry I'd not step in no more cow's pie 'cept when my fur was cravin' it and then I'd happ'ly roll in shit
a canine I was born to be... that's been the heart, the soul of me
humans, yes...I love and know... but, thank Dog, it's near time to go
back to which I've been before... and all is fine... nature keeps score
no write, no wrong, no good, no evil
time to howl with earth's primeval
endless call
I know that's where I do belong...
as part of that undying song
delilah contrapunctal.... yes, that's how I intended to spell it.........
