Virginia Cairns Poems

Father time
To this being I beg
That he will freeze time
...

There is a line
Between friends and lovers
Which isn't always meant to be crossed
...

To love you, my dearest
Is to feast on delicacies forever

To not love you, my friend
...

Rapturous beauty
Found in a place unexpected

So radiant
...

Your smile
Pure and beautiful
Makes everything perfect
...

To be or not to be
That is the Shakespearean question
Still being asked today
...

Splitting, tearing
The earth breaks apart

Feel its pain
Watch pieces of earth fall deep into the ocean
...

Everyone has their personal hell
Unique from others

Can not be seen
For it exists in your mind
...

Tied up and bound
No way to be released

Struggling, screaming
Fighting, crying
...

Little hummingbird
Unique from the others

Always alone
Tear ready to fall
...

11.

Spells unwinding
Coming undone

The life I once had
Unraveling at the seams
...

12.

Walls
Are not what they appear to be

They keep you safe
The unknown can not get pass
...

Darkness
Nothingness

All around me
Everywhere I look
...

Searching, Seeking
Looking all through the fields

Wind blowing
Storms coming and going
...

For years I have been praying
Asking, begging, pleading
For one thing, one person
...

A lone wolf
Lost, alone, sad
Stuck on the ground by gravity
...

You used to be
The one I cared for
The one I wanted
...

A gift was given or should I say taken
Heart pounding body shaking
It happened so fast
I wish this woud pass
...

Everytime something goes right
It never seems to fail
Something must go wrong
...

Beautiful Angel
So fair and innocent
Why do you cry?
...

Frozen Time

Father time
To this being I beg
That he will freeze time

At sunset or sunrise
Crescent moon and shining stars near
With a cool autumn breeze
For my knight in shining armor and I

Just you and I unfrozen
Standing near each other
At least for a while

So we could get to know one another
Talking for hours on end
Laughing at jokes

Singing along with songs while dancing
Playing instruments
Enjoying the noises of our making

To play games
Competing in fun
Smiling while yelling

I'd wish to know you
Heart and soul
To learn everything I can about you

To share your burdens
Pain, heartaches, and all
So you won't be alone

I'd ask to rewind time
And undo mistakes and problems
So to give us a real chance

I'd try and be a true friend
Caring, loving, and always be there for you
And maybe even be more

I hope and beg to get this chance
At least I could say I tried
To do everything I could

Who knows
Hopefully fate will see it fit
That we are one day together
