You Have Killed The Bird Poem by Aftab Alam

You Have Killed The Bird

Rating: 5.0

Your eyes are searching,
Love that perch,
I am in search of me,

The bird stole my song,
I was the song,
Now who will sing?

When I was tired enough to walk,
I sat calmly and looked within,
Found the bird dead,

I was dying like a fish without water,
You have killed the bird-
That was the dying song singing

Now I am praying for the bird,
Song must be sung,
Beyond the ring of mortality -
