Wishing For A Drink Of Fresh Water Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Wishing For A Drink Of Fresh Water

The only difference having common sense,
Seems to make these days...
From those who have been distanced,
With minds fearing their thoughts would offend...
Is one's choice to use it in an argument,
To find themselves left to feel...
Being rational with a reason to seek,
Comprehension and understanding...
Is as lonely a journey as one wishing,
For a drink of fresh water...
From someone who has to ask the question,
Why is the quest for fresh necessary?
When water anywhere to be found,
Should please anyone who has a thirst for it.
