That Was Not A Smile Poem by Hebert Logerie

That Was Not A Smile

That was a fiendish frown
Which was flashed by a clown
In Halloween
That was a grotesque scene
Oh! No. That was not a smile
Oh! No. That was not a great style
That was an unnecessary convulsion
Since you were at fault, your action
Was unwarranted, and your behavior
Was unacceptable. What a smile!
What a reaction which was vile
Wild, mean and unladylike
You need to take a hike
You need to repent and apologize
What was the fuss about, all that jazz
For nothing, for nonsense
That entire hostile dance
That was not a friendly smile
A smile is sweet and inviting
That wasn't you. For a while
I thought that you were losing
Head, mind and all your marbles
Because I could see clear bubbles
Coming out of your mouth like smoke
I fear that you were having a stroke
Oh! No. That's was not a nice smile
Mind you, you're no longer a juvenile.
