Tear Poem by Muhammad Ali

Tear

Rating: 4.6

Ageless days
On the surface
When it stays
.
Sunset hides
Down the cheek
When it slides
.
Shh.. hope sleeps
Eyes can't help
Heart weeps weeps

Hope sleeps, heart weeps! I wish that hope would resist hopelessness, for prosperity's sake.

I've just reread the poem with the meaning on 'tear' placed on the idea of pulling apart, ripping. The sun sliding down the cheek has or had found an opening...New layers of meaning reveal themselves. A very complex work, Ali. Magnificent.

Even if the ocean is your tears, you have land my dear to still make things green and great... Dont cry for more, but if u want to just cry... Still u have to make sure the land you have a place for u to walk and success. Success means, what make your life beautiful according to u.

A very beautiful work. Hope is merely asleep, but it remains present. And the vivid imagery is magnificent.

It's odd sometimes how one line will reach out from a poem and grap me by my throat and say look at me- really look at me. That is what this line said to me- - - - - - Shh.. hope sleeps
