Ripe Age Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Ripe Age

The time has changed,
With it my taste;
When I should be working
I long for a little rest;

The vigour, the zest, the want
The pains, all are gone;
In the twilight hour of life
It seems I am left all alone;

The love of my wife
Is no more in my fate;
To be with her there
I have yet to find a date;

I wake up to see the hours
Slowly and silently slipping away;
The day gives in to the night
And the night gives in to the day;

One day the sun would turns black
There would be darkness everywhere;
My life is worth a few drops of tear
As they light my funeral pyre.
