One Last Coffee Poem by Stevie Taite

One Last Coffee

Rating: 5.0

Meet me for this one last coffee
So we can kiss our last goodbyes
Sit close and be as awkward as me
(one more look into your eyes)

Then somehow I'll hide you inside me
deep within my vaulted chest
Please wipe the trail of my mascara
And wish my weary heart at rest!

That last coffee is a poisoned chalice, Stevie...just makes it hurt more... An emotional ending, realistically described.

DRINK TEA! ! ! I always say that! All the ninjas do it in the movies....so it must be good for you. Stevie this is a heartfelt lament and I feel the echo of it's sentiment deep in my heart. Man oh man you are great: -)

In two verses you captured what I would try to painfully articulate in a weeks worth of rambling. It's painful and nostalgic and beautiful. I felt that familiar ache.
