More Of The Same Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

More Of The Same

Rating: 5.0

Shootings in the day
Shootings at night
Welcome to Baltimore
Be careful with your life
Cops fill the streets
To ward off the dread
Folks so scared
It's not all in their heads
No matter where you go
No matter where you live
Thugs be-a-coming
They got nothing to give
Shots ring out
Casings fall to the ground
Blood stains the asphalt
Nobody makes a sound
Bullets and blood
Currency of the day
Seem to remember
When it wasn't always that way
Got to do more
Stop the carnage and pain
Before we're left
With more of the same

Very powerful poem here Lawerence; I only wish it was not so. What is going on in the world?
