Monsters Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

Monsters

Monsters are here
The ones we never see
They lay in wait for victims
Victims like you and me
They hang out on corners
At stores near malls
They'll take your possessions
Your money and cars
Time means nothing
They hit day and night
The monsters are coming
Got you in their sights
Some use guns
Others brute force
They get you cornered
You haven't a choice
It happens quick
A fist to the head
Your thrown to the ground
Clothes ripped to shreds
They are somebody's kids
They can kill you too
These Baltimore juveniles...
Monsters coming for you.

Sad, scary, and horrible all at the same time. Again, powerful poem!
