It Is Time To Say Sorry Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

It Is Time To Say Sorry

Rating: 5.0

It is time to say sorry
To our children for the mess
We have created in this world

For leaving no space
Unspoiled and unpolluted for
Them to live a decent and safe life

War has destroyed countries with
Old and rich in culture and
Economically strong
Pollution is creating panic
Among citizens and they remain
Inside home to avoid it

Forests are depleting at a
Fast pace for industrialization
Killing creatures and destroying
Valuable plants and saplings

It is time to say sorry to
Our children and those who are
Yet to take birth in this dirty world
For instead of saving the earth
We are searching a habitable planet
In the universe spending billions and trillions

I have a different stance. We can't beg appology before our children rather we have the duties and responsibilites to to put an erring child on the track (not to kill him) . Thanks a lot dear poet for sharing this poem with us.

Thought provoking piece! We owe an apology to younger generations for our mindless pursuit of industrialization.

I have read a saying of one of the aboriginal tribes of the Americas: "We have not inherited this earth from our forefathers, we have just borrowed it from our children.. so true dear poet. Good poem. Top score and myfav, in times of COP27.
