He broke her heart
in the middle of the day.
He slammed the door
and walked away.
She broke his heart
in the middle of the night.
She shut the door
as she walked out of sight.
He brought her flowers
in the middle of the day.
She smiled at him
and walked away.
She gave him comfort
in the middle of the night.
He smiled at her
as he turned out the light.
