If Poem by gabriella mendoza

If

Rating: 5.0

IF and only IF...
Faith interceded our beings, weaving together our heart strings.
[Gold over Silver, Silver over Gold.]
interweaving, overlooking, accepting. Love.
As a final touch...
She'll prick her index finger, above the final pieces of thread.
Thickened blood seals our fate, and we'd be ours, now and forever.

IF and only IF...
The moon gave us her talcum powder,
And lay it upon the tips of our noses.
[cross-eyed, nostrils flared...attractions set to their highest]
We'd breath each other in,
Our beating hearts reach out for a lover to call their own.

then...
You'd stand nervously, fidget awkwardly.
Dressed in ceremonious attire, (for a ceremonious event)
with the exception of your feet.
which would lie buried beneath a thin layer of silver sand,
turned golden by the setting sun.

then...
I'd smile continuously, thank politely.
Dressed in ivory textiles, and decorated with a flowery token.
My feet would move in sync with the beats
Set in tune to the key of #43.

then...
we'd become artists, creating a total of
two masterpieces.
a female, followed by a male.
[composed of your eyes, complimented with my smile]
we'd mold them carefully, beautifully
a treble clef embedded within their hearts. an endless list
of words composing their minds,
waiting to be expressed.

then...
our departure would merely be physical
a simple gesture occurring in time.
A force dubbed useless,
left submerged by our existence.

IF and only IF.
