I Informed You, 'I Am Pregnant' Poem by Nur Meiyati

I Informed You, 'I Am Pregnant'

Rating: 5.0

You said you loved me and understood me
More than I understood myself
But you had put me in a situation
That I had to beg you
Didn't you know me well
That I was not good at pleading
And it hurt

I informed you, “ I am pregnant”
And I could not raise our baby alone
It would be difficult for me and more for our baby
In my situation and in my such society
You knew me well
That you were my only home
I was never close to any men

I wished you would tell me that you would be happy
For our coming baby
I hoped you would hold my hands
And console me
Assuring me that everything would be fine
And you would be with me
To face the new reality, together
But you looked to lose your mind
I knew then
In your mind, your relationship with your wife and your legal children
Was sacred as you were bound by a marriage vow, in front of your God
They deserved you more than me and our coming baby

At last you just said “I will be responsible for what I did to you”
I was speechless
Ah ….
So I am nowhere in your mind and heart, I decided

Since we have each other @ heart, we'l both raise our baby in your situation which is our society and our home, - i know am the only one in your life and no other. But dnt let our baby see we're not holding hands kos U DNT NEED TO INFOME ME BOUT THAT. Yesterday at 7: 47am via mobile · Like Nur Meiyati Joewill Wodo: Oh nice words. But it is not really my own story of life. Although the way I stand on her shoes is coloured by the way I perceive something and perhaps also by my personality. Yesterday at 5: 37pm · Like · 1

Comments from a group of poet in Facebook that I do not want to lose as they are very precious Alicia C. Cooper and Lucette Bailliet like this. Hasmukh Mehta were you unmarried at that time? 19 minutes ago · Like Nur Meiyati No..no...the story is not mine. I was just inspired by some real stories in the news.....many women were killed by their partners for fear of shame, because they demanded the men to marry them. 11 minutes ago · Like · 1 Hasmukh Mehta i started writing on this 9 minutes ago · Like Hasmukh Mehta it is naturral to demand marriage 9 minutes ago · Like Alicia C. Cooper Once again, excellent, real and heart-wrenching write. So many have experienced this, from all over the world. Great write! 6 minutes ago · Like Nur Meiyati I just try to tell the story from the side of 'the other woman' who will be considered bad by the society as they destroy a sacred marriage...as it is. I don't judge any of them. 5 minutes ago · Edited · Like Nur Meiyati Alicia C Cooper: Thank you ma'am. You always have nice words for me. 4 minutes ago · Like
