Have A Bad Day Poem by George Hunter

Have A Bad Day

Have a nice day, have a nice day
I’m so tired of hearing people say
It’s such a trite phrase
That’s seen better days
I wish it would just go away.

We could say ta ta or ciao
To someone we’d like to wow.
With that phraseology
We’d need no apology
And we’d appear so smart somehow

We could also say a nice week, month or year
But that’s not much better to hear
We need to brew
A phrase that is new
More pleasing to everyone’s ear.

Why can’t we all just say
Have a bad day, a really bad day?
Just like a curse
What could be worse?
And make everybody pay.

I don’t want to have a nice day anymore
I just want to be miserable and that’s for sure
I don’t want to be glad
I just want to be sad
And hurting right down to the core.

People have a right to a life that’s crappy
Without being admonished every minute to be happy.
I have every reason to feel so blue
It’s my day and I’ll cry if I want to.
So there!
