Choosing A Lover Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Choosing A Lover

Rating: 5.0

You must choose your lover cautiously
She must not be many years older than you
Else she would start giving you sermons
She should not many years younger than you
She would like to be cuddled all the time
She won't let you go to work and come late
You must choose your lover cautiously
She should know how to sing when you feel low
She should know how to press your head
When with burdens of work you return home
She should know how to undress you in dark
And give you romance that you feel light
You must know how to choose a lover
When you are grown up and need to be loved
There should be a sea of love in her eyes
Her lips should be fluttering petals yearning
For your kiss. She should know how to undo
Her bun when night falls at the door step.
You must know how to choose a lover.
