You're even fake to yourself

I never told you how much you affected my life
I never told you how you made me feel lost without you
I never told you how much I missed you when you left
And I never told what you did to me after leaving...

I hide myself behind this mask I've made all these years
Protecting myself from the trueness of everything else
Every step I take builds my fear
Every breath I take makes me feel the pain I've felt
...

If I weren't afraid, I would destroy you
I would push off a bridge and watch you drown
I would lock you in your car and watch it burn, only to see your skin boil and crackle from the flames
...

Living in the forever surrounding shadows of the black
Following me around, never letting go
Bringing in the heartache whenever I show
Clawing my way out of the consuming black hole

I love you more than life itself, without
You I can’t continue on, you’re like a chain
That keeps me sane, you’re my paradise,
You’re my escape from reality

Today is no longer like before
As we watch our freedom fall apart
No longer can we stroll along the street
Without fear of a bomb going off

Everything around me wither hurts or dies
It never lasts that long, but it does lie
My head spins and aches from the whirling stress
I always seek solace from what is my death
