Peace Poem by Nancy Chanthakoun

Peace

I love you more than life itself, without
You I can’t continue on, you’re like a chain
That keeps me sane, you’re my paradise,
You’re my escape from reality
You make me feel special, you make me feel whole
You’re quiet like skeletal trees on windless plains
Never making move, not even sighing a breath…
When chaos surrounds me, with nowhere to go,
I escape to you, my beautiful
I hope to love you with years to come
But some will try to take me away from you
They say you’re dull, boring, and never exciting,
They want the music, excitement, and late night gatherings,
I will leave you for only a bit, but I will
Always return to you,
My solitude.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

More than to solitude, this seems an elegy to interior life. The title 'Peace' adapt itself to intimate world. Sometimes solitude can't do without aggressivity. Very well told.
