1.

Life is what we make it, a cliché but so true
Non the less a truism, it applies to me and you
Our glass may be half empty or our glass may be half full
Whichever way you look at it, it's really beautiful
...

Love and devotion are based on reality
For love must increase as each day goes by
And true love knows no set regularity
Unless it increases it must surely die.
...

Lady Diana are you dreaming, all our tears belong to you
Now the time we shared together has all gone
The love affair which started so many years ago
You came into our lives lost and alone.
...

Rich in the wild, free, Romany way he rests in Devon earth
Suffering now all gone, he sleeps in the cradle of his birth
And all left behind remember,
A man cut down in the warm September of his years.
...

In the glass the other day, an old man with feet of clay
Who used to be a giant in his prime
But the years they take their toll, on the body and the soul
For the times are ever changing all the time.
...

Take a cabin by a river, on an English summer's day
Watch the waving golden barley from a boat out in a bay
Take the beauty of a sunrise, reds and golds and yellows too.
See the sunlight on a meadow, think my thoughts......and think of you.
...

Watch closely now..!
with just one look at you
Hair on the pillow, drowsy with sleep
Stirring and smiling provocatively
...

It was seven Christmases from my beginning, as greenfields turned to snow
My childseyes filled with wonder in that land of long ago
My heart beat loud and faster as Xmas I espied.....
And the magic of that moment, it has never left my side.
...

Love won't be denied, if you take things in your stride
Sounds like good advice...but now there's no one at my side
And time washes clean all loves wounds unseen
I know 'cos someone told me, but I don't know what it means
...

Will you walk with me to the shadowlands, for I can't go on my own
We came this far together, now I'm frightened on my own
Just take my hand and guide me i'll put my trust in you
And if we walk together our love will see us through.
...

All the lessons we meet on lifes journey
We never learn, oh never learn
And the paths that we take deep and thorny
No return, no return.
...

All mothers on their birthday,
should have a glass or two
And reminisce on years gone by
'Cos that's what mothers do.
...

The white blanket of winter had gone, giving way to spring
My childs eye filled with wonder, and my heart began to sing
As I walked the lanes of my boyhood, full of gentleness and fun
My innocence like a beacon, shining brightly in the sun.
...

As the play draws to its close, and the curtain starts to fall on the eyes once sharp and clear
Now the pupil's getting small and the coldness starts to creep, and the body aches to sleep, comes a memory full and deep
Of a lifetime long ago.
...

For fourty years I always thought my father was the best
For fourty years a shining light, passed each and every test,
For fourty years we lived a lie since he and I began
It took his death for me to feel the miseries of man.
...

Look at me, here I sit old before my time
Broken dreams around my feet, memories sublime
Aching heart beneath my breast....pain is all I see
Endless days of pity, a requiem for you and me.
...

Lost in the mists, and long ago a tiny flame began
Flickered in the dismal gloom, took shape became a man
Trembled as it struggled to warm a cold grey dawn
And the greatest Island nation known to man, was born.
...

All my life I have searched for you, everywhere
Across the oceans of my untrammelled mind
And all my life I have prayed for you, somewhere
Dreaming, always hoping I would find
...

Inhuman wretch..! one flash and life departs
From downy breast that lately trilled an air
And now the cold grey grip of death it starts
Your dripping blood tempts reynard from his lair.
...

One evening many years ago
When I was but a child,
A snowflake fell at Christmas
And I was so beguiled.!

The Best Poem Of Jeff Stoddart

Life

Life is what we make it, a cliché but so true
Non the less a truism, it applies to me and you
Our glass may be half empty or our glass may be half full
Whichever way you look at it, it's really beautiful

We all can learn with hindsight, we all can think 'why me'
We all can turn the other cheek when it's easier not to see
We all can take the easy route, and all can live the lie
But what you really can't do from birth until you die
Is kid yourself, and not be true to what you feel inside
For when you look into your heart there's nowhere you can hide
And that's the only way to live, the only way to be
The journey starts with just one step, take it.....and you'r free.
