Mum's Birthday. Poem by Jeff Stoddart

Mum's Birthday.

All mothers on their birthday,
should have a glass or two
And reminisce on years gone by
'Cos that's what mothers do.

They talk of better days, long gone
When times were not so bad
Of people, places, memories
And feel a little sad.

So when they reach a milestone year
And today surely is.
Content themselves with what they have
And drink a little fizz

For after all the hype has gone
It's life the've really mastered
Put up their feet, and take it neat
And go and get well plastered.......! !
