Y// Not Yet Closing My Eyes Poem by Aufie Zophy

Y// Not Yet Closing My Eyes

Rating: 5.0

Just before drifting into sleep at night,
all compassion and kindness of a day,
that has been passing again too quickly,
crosses the eye of my mind and heart.

In these enchanting moments of darkness,
silence prevails and thoughts seem fading.
My soul, a bit shy but surfacing in glory,
pours passion and peace in endless harmony

The air weighs in and presses my skin
God's healing power descends from above.
It invades my pores, it invades my lungs
and soon, as a wave, reaches every cell.

The soft pillow holds my head.
Sleep invites, waiving wonder dreams
but the magic and the peace of the moment
keep me from closing my eyes.

a also once wrote a poem about sleep dear to my heart, yes 'The soft pillow holds my head Sleep invites waiving wonder dreams but the magic and the peace of the moment keep me from closing my eyes' these are exquisite moments, longing to retain the peace of quiet moments before sleep, so much better than the exhausted body overtired that must drop like a stone to steal every precious second of sleep, before waking to many work responsibility moments blessing with earnest endeavours

Awesome expression. The time when we are in bed, free from the day's chores is such a blissful time. Waiting for sleep has its charms n pleasures.
