Why Does A Moron Marry An Idiot? …[ My Wife's Question; She's One; I'm The Other; Making Sense Out Of Nonsense! ; Short Enough; Mostly Serious ] Poem by Bri Edwards

Why Does A Moron Marry An Idiot? …[ My Wife's Question; She's One; I'm The Other; Making Sense Out Of Nonsense! ; Short Enough; Mostly Serious ]

Rating: 3.5

‘Idiot' & ‘Moron' were once used by "Psychologists" …
to describe the ‘mental age range' of a ‘stupid' person.
[ Idiot: below 3 years; Moron: 7-12 ]"They" now RESIST …
their usage.(Can labels, a person's state, WORSEN? ?)

Strangely (in my ‘old' lexicon)are "other" (#1)definitions ….
for the Same Words (‘I' & ‘M'): these "others" seem the REVERSE ….
of the outdated (# 2)definitions, lending ‘ammunitions' ….
to my idea that English is, for many, a ‘big fat CURSE ….
to learn' *.

The #1 definitions say an Idiot is "foolish or stupid",
AND a Moron is "very stupid"![ see first stanza, above ]
It's like ME saying "brains", but YOU saying "hearts"** …….
are the targets of CUPID **! ! !
[ Now I've referred to ‘intellect' and also to ‘LOVE'.*** ]

This brings me finally to 3 questions.First is the Title ….
(of this poem) .
1- "Why Does A Moron Marry An Idiot? "
2 - Why does a Moron let Herself be the focus of a ……‘shower-BRIDAL'?
3 - Why does an Idiot wear a tuxedo (that, Him, …….does-not-fit) ?

MY ANSWERS:
The Idiot is "foolish"; he makes a ….(big)MISTAKE,
AND the Moron is "very stupid", so much so that.....
..she's BARELY-AWAKE! !

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
[ from Wikipedia: "In classical mythology, Cupid (Latin Cupīdō [kʊˈpiː.doː], meaning "desire")is the god of desire, erotic love, attraction and affection."]

[ from Bri Edwards: Many in the U.S. celebrate Valentines Day by giving ‘loved ones' Valentine cards, and/or gifts, often candy or flowers. Some V-cards display a red or pink heart, pierced by ‘Cupid's arrow'.This I've always thought of as symbolizing someone being ‘struck' with love! ]

"shower-BRIDAL": When a woman is planning to be married in the U.S.,
sometimes a "bridal shower" is arranged for her by friends and/or relatives.
It is a party during which the "bride-to-be" is "showered" with gifts, some serious, some not so serious, to "prepare" her for her marriage.

Showers, when I was younger, were usually attended by just women.

"tuxedo": Often a fancy suit, called a tuxedo, is worn by the groom (used to always be a male)who is getting married during a wedding ceremony, typically by a religious leader e.g. priest, minister, rabbi.

Now that same-sex marriages are more legal/common in the U.S., both people getting married may be male, or both female.I'm not sure what terms are used for them [bride & bride? ; groom & groom? ]

A TRULY HEROIC ASSIGNMENT. My guess is that the Morons win against the Idiots every time if one considers most marriages. In a same marriage though how do you distinguish them, I mean, Moron and Idiot wise?

Your wife ASSIGNED you to write this poem? Wow! I can barely get my wife to READ my poems! Okay, if you are that easy to persuade, then I am assigning you to read one of my latest: BALLAD OF A YOUNG BRAVE. I'm betting that you will like it, despite being assigned to read it. You will also notice that some of the people who have already left comments on it just didn't get it!

It is mostly about. : -) Perhaps my first entry into my dictionary would be a 200 page definition of love.
