Who's-Watching>>> Poem by Manonton Dalan

Who's-Watching>>>

carefully match stones
to create a breakwall
wrap with chicken wire
to prevent free erosion
placed both side of river
will be put to test this
rainy season's flooding
villagers has high hopes

how long does chicken wire
last against nature's rust
maybe long enough to grow
grass that will hold in place
cement could have been choice
to bond all those stone faces
maybe this isn't complete yet
somebody will put that cement

when that roaring flood comes
with fallen trees, rocks in tow
one of them will rip that wire
like pulling those bermuda grass
stones will follow like falling
pop corn; all efforts are wasted
for one reason poor engineering
who's checking these projects
