We Do Not Need To Be President To Help Poem by Hebert Logerie

We Do Not Need To Be President To Help

We do not need to be president to help
We do not need to be president to save
Haiti, who's experiencing a terrible moment
We do not need to seize the state coffer, all the money
In order to change the extreme abject conditions
Which exist in our tiny country, in our small nation
Where the elected officials are plotting, stealing and robbing
We need to overhaul the system from top to bottom
Haiti belongs to no one family, no king, no emperor
No president, senator or deputy. Haiti belongs to the People.
The real power is in the hands of the People. The little People
Are ready to fight to save the skeleton, the remains of Haiti
The rest that the hungry gluttons, the wild eagles, the old tigers
The vicious cats, the greedy pigs, the kins of the wild grimalkins
And the egregious leopards' second generations are fighting for
Haiti is for all Haitians. All Haitians have the same rights
We do not need to be president to help Haiti
We do not need to kidnap the power to do
Good deeds for our brothers and sisters, who are dying
Of hunger, and who are as thirsty as a dry desert that has not seen
Potable water for a long ago time
We do not need to be president to save the country
It's insane that countless crazy people are dying to lead
Even though they lack the education and the experience
To be effective, efficient and conscientious leaders
As dumb as zombies, when in power, they rob and steal
In plain sight. They obviously falter; they're not qualified to govern
They want to be called chefs, but they cannot fry an egg
We can help and save Haiti, our homeland
Without sitting on the high chair like stupid monkeys.
