Valedictory Poem by Rachel Butler

Valedictory

Rating: 4.5

(Dedicated to the unknown gardener)

One hand on my heart and the other raised to bid farewell.
Let this sight of him not be the last and this parting brief.
Forsooth, without him life is commonplace, curiosity begs to
know what advancement has he made without me.

Alas, his aspirations and mine have they made headway?
We are parted, each in liaisons.
Our peace taken away, my tears flow making an ocean that he
will sail upon.

I watch for a returning ship.

Not to tell farewell, but time will come and... One hand on my heart and the other raised to bid farewell. Let this sight of him not be the last and this parting brief. Forsooth, without him life is commonplace, curiosity begs to know what advancement has he made without me.
