Us. Poem by Nicco Muegge

Us.

I sit among the rocks
with an instrument I've never played
in a land I've never seen
with a people I've never known.
We do what we're told
when no on really told us anything
as we remain unmoved
in a state of nothingness.

My hands move
and are followed by the rest of my body
into place never traversed
and an area never searched.
Others follow behind
as I lead them on an adventure nowhere
past our thoughts capacity
and into the new world.

Together we stand
as we lean on each other for survival
and eternal bonds are created
and friendships the have no end.
I play a song
a song never heard by their ears or mine
as the keys flow from my fingers
and bounce into eternity

We become one
as I love something for the first time
and they become known to me
and I to them.
We see the end
of a journey long awaited and traveled
as we spring for the cliff's end
and dive into our immortality.
