Ditto. Poem by Nicco Muegge

Ditto.

I was tempted
to cuff your face
and just hold it
until the world fell silent
but was stopped
by my fear
and my forethought
because I'm mostly scared to lose you.

Maybe if you
weren't so beautiful
and your eyes
didn't sparkle so bright in the moonlight
it would be easier
to turn away
ignore your grace
and let the evening slip into oblivion.
