Trusting voices?

The clock struck twelve
At the night of New Year's Eve
Then just in! A news breaking
Of a fishing boat off a coast sinking
Claimed to have been blown off
By a coast guard officer with a brief
That a repeat of twenty sixth/ eleven
Had been thwarted with diligence
But doubts with accuracy did flare
As it might be another Media slander
Or with Mr Minister in collusion
Is media fueling our obsession
For the news as the rhetoric
And as Today's fashion for the civic
Twisting the information to benefit
Personal agendas verifying facts not a bit
Thereby taking us for a ride
The effect of which unfathomable worldwide
On religions, politics, and ethnicities
Mr Minister with Medias spitting lies
For anchors of Medias love slanging matches
That in effect pampers Mr Minister's stomaches
But the truth has an embarrassing tendency to re-surface
Unless presented with an un-doctored account base
It may embarrass Media, Mr Minister,
And the nation as well, the less said the better
It seems jingoism is backfiring
When representatives of a party came up defending
Still does remain the bottom line with the Media and Ministry
That they avoid misleading public unscrupulously
For camouflaging patent blunders chips away
At the citizen's faith in the system miserably
So listen, Media and Mr Minister
Just give us the facts with no breaking rumors,
No exaggerated adjectives
And despicable negatives and personal additives
For we are not your minions
That we should entertain your personal opinions
For the nation needs no spin-doctors
Rather trusted voices to boost our moral cores

The media also speaks untruth, though not all, suiting their own professional benefit keeping public under dark or confused... A fact revealing write what I liked a lot.

Without being judgemental, Deepak ji, I too believe that truth should not get obscured by anything and it should come out in the open. A timely and beautiful write.

Media often distort facts! Senastionalism as in anything modern is very much in journalism too! There is no accoutability! The common people are made fools by media hype and often they flounder between fact and fiction! A very powerful write and my 10
