Truth Against Truth Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Truth Against Truth

New thoughts slicing his ideals;
Nudging ancient hers unto suspicion
Cleaving pillars of truth when
Irked by the slightest provocation
Of the call unjust and not divine
Newly wed to a man of justice
Though to virtue, valour and truth divine
She has been wed long since
Happy and grateful to providence
For the truth destined to meet the truth
Ended up in conceding to her wishes
In a very strange and rare coincidence
Also very proud to be the wife of a judge
Always dreaming to touch truth as a mighty fortress
And time cruised along the pathway
Even or uneven quite trivial in her happiness
When one day she was struck with astonishment
That justice being traded in market place
By none other than her dream man sitting on judgement
At prices of his choices
Voices raised and silenced very often
With the threat- mind your own business
And keep off from dirty things like truth
As most elusive and as good as useless
But she was virtuous, valiant and wise
Could not be bowed down otherwise
She fought and fought restlessly
Until pierced with bullets
And in grave made to rest
Forever with weeds outgrowing slowly
Covering up her name in beauty
And it is disheartening to see
God forswearing divinity……….

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

When we stand for truth and justice, bitter experiences inevitably follow... At times we are appalled to see the guardians of justice turn to be the assassins of justice... The poor woman became a martyr! At times we are left to wonder how God can forswear divinity....! Great write, Deepak!
