Time In, Time Out Poem by Brianna Stuckey

Time In, Time Out

Rating: 3.0

Time in, time out
Through each time I want to shout.
We go as one at the good lord's calling
We call it something like 'free falling'
Saying our prayers before we hit the sea
This loves lasts, we've paid the final fee....

They sit and watch and wait
If only she knew a love enough to relate
What happens in her dreams
is not capable as it only seems.

He knows not where to find
a woman who is only kind.
He wants to get himself something more than a lover
But he still wants a body for his own to cover.

She replays the dates of before hand
The sunsets, she watches at the shore and land.
She wants to swim out, to be covered by the water.
Instead, she turns her feet in the cold sand, and starts to wander.

He drops the thought and looks out on the lonely beach.
Wishing for something that is only more than in reach.
A wind blows a fruity perfume through the air,
He looks out from the pier, glimpsing a bountiful of brown hair.
There, There.

She walks along, looking at nothing in particular.
Looking at the pier, she sees a man, with an intimate, intense stare.
Oh how familiar, the way he watches when she puts one foot in front of the other,
Reminds her of the love; the way her father once looked at her mother.

He has not seen a beauty of this strength,
He can't bare it, not when between them is at such great length.
Walking from the pier, he can't take an eye off her eyes.
He wants to talk, but to speak truth, too confide, this woman would not accept any lies.

She can't help but to see into the pull of his eyes, which don't leave her as he makes his way.
She pictures a picture; in his arms she'll lay.
Only she has never seen this man, not here.
But then, him in her direction, she does not steer.

He closes the distance quicker than he'd thought of something to say,
She's closer to him now, so he can't let that keep him at bay.
He takes the site in, her brown hair, brown eyes, the way her white dress hugs her hips,
He holds his breath, eyes wandering to her juicy pink lips.

'You're beautiful, ' There's nothing to say, but either way that was the most obvious.
'You are a very nice stranger, ' She looks at his forehead that breaks in sweat, she knows he's nervous. 'I've never seen you here, but of course I never knew about this pier.'
'Are you here often? ' He asks.
'Time in and time out.' She says, unknowingly her mouth has a mind of it's own.
'Through each time I just want to shout.' He replies.

He doesn't know why he said it, but she smiles a smile.
For a moment both their hearts are jumping a mile.
He feels his own heart start to grow.
The thought comes, anything she doesn't know, he'll be the one to show.

Maybe it's her, maybe its not,
But she feels like he can see past her.
His eyes change, full of passion, as if given a shove.
She knows that he knows.... He sees she's never had love.

Liked this poem, a bit too long though. ''Time in and time out.' She says, unknowingly her mouth has a mind of it's own' - This is a beautiful line! 'But she feels like he can see past her. His eyes change, full of passion, as if given a shove. She knows that he knows.... He sees she's never had love.' Nice!
