The Walk Poem by Edwina Reizer

The Walk

Rating: 5.0

Some walk the straight and narrow path.
Some find it too confining.
And so they broaden their footsteps
And search for the silver lining.
The path you walk is just for you
And so you walk it ‘til you’re through
And then sit back and say.
I wonder why I walked that way?

There is no defining answer.
There is only contemplation.
Did someone choose the path for you
Or was it just illumination?
By confronting all the things you need,
Through trial and error ‘til you succeed
It set the course for you
And like a bird you flew.

You flew into adventures all your own
And landed in a place
That made you smile or made you frown,
Things you can’t erase.
For these are the events that made you learn.
These are the events that made you yearn
To travel the path you chose
And follow it wherever it goes.
