The Smiling Heart Poem by Stefanie Fontker

The Smiling Heart

Rating: 4.0

To a nameless woman.

Let me become sick
To the very bottom
Of this endless
Engorged kindness
You have implanted
Inside this heart
Never before found
Is this invention
Of red on my cheeks
You have performed
A many a miracle
All I can do is try
To offer what little
Words remain true
In this lying mouth
I so dearly hold
