The Sinner Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

The Sinner

Rating: 5.0

The sinner
- - - - - - -
I heard him whisper
I am a sinner
I am a culprit
O, Merciful God
Give me but
A glance of your forgiveness
Give me but
The nectar of your love and happiness
To this wayward
Cheating all near and dear
Riches gathered without fear
Trickery and deceit played
Dignity sold away
Then, can anyone say
That he has not sinned
Many masks we are wearing
Some painted bright
Some pure and glowing
But they are only masks
The camouflage we are putting on
This falsehood can deceive the world
But not oneself
Morality sold off
I am but a sinner
A debtor
To GOD

Mostly we all commit some sins (big or small) compromising ourselves and the very next moment we camouflage and pretend to be clean. But by this process, ultimately we remain guilty and belittled to our conscience. Hence to come out from sinful activities, only our self awareness can help us to rectify, nothing else...... a good eye opener in deed

In a large world of sinners you need not identify yourself someone with the identity of the tribe..... We always cleanse ourselves somehow and there is absolute contentment attained thus.... Being indebted to God is your domain and if it instills any strength in you, you have to keep it up Pattanayakji.

This self awareness is the easiest route to correction and redemption! To some extent, we are all sinners and many a time we camouflage our true self through deception! Only thing, the degree of sinfulness varies from person to person! A great write on the confession of a repentant soul!
