The Fall Poem by River someday

When the world was saying no
We fought back with everything we had
When our parents didn't agree
We held on that much harder
While our friends wanted us to fall
We promised to wed
When everyone gave me reason to question you love
I chose to be deaf
As the time went by
Our love seemed to grow stronger
So what am I supposed to do now
Do you really expect me to pick up all the pieces
Am I supposed to forget about us and move on
All those warnings i ignored
All the while just trying to pretend everything was okay
So many tears I cried, hoping with every dropp it would get better
The fall was the hardest part
When the world was saying no
We should have agreed
When our parents didn't agree
We should have let go
While our friends wanted us to fall
We also should have wanted to
When the others said we wouldn't last
We should have promised to part
When everyone gave me reason to question your love
I wish I would have stopped to listen
