Wrong Mother And Father Poem by River someday

Wrong Mother And Father

You see what they do
You praise them for a job well done
You know what their talents are
You are able to recognize them
But you don't see what I do
You don't praise me for a job well done
You don't know my talents
You don't recognize them
You say they work hard
You say i'm lazy
You tell them how much you love them
You tell me what i need to change
You said that my brothers are great musicians
You didn't say how good i was
I look for love
But only because you make it that way for me
I thought i found the love i needed
I was mistaken
I'm constantly drowning
You only stand by and watch
You have no compassion
No sympathy
Absolutely no respect
You aren't the parents i was supposed to have

What a condemnation! I bet they haven't seen this. You did a commendable job of illustrating the problem. GW62
